GVO and Pure Leverage Overview
Global Venture Opportunities (GVO) formed in 1999 provides web hosting services starting from $5,56/month including a GVO autoresponder, Webinar Conference Room and Video Creation System. l really don’t have any issues with GVO had it remained a web hosting service without degenerating into a pyramid scheme. The scheme is an offshoot of GVO called ‘Host Then Profit’ – ‘host’ your website with GVO and ‘profit’ by becoming a GVO affiliate (get commissions by selling the service to others). Well, there is really nothing wrong with you getting some passive income by referring others to host their website with GVO just like other reputable hosting companies such as NameCheap.
The scam begins by the recommendation that you join ‘Pure Leverage Marketing Scheme’ introduced in 2013 for $1 (7 day trial)
You will then $24,95/month recurring thereafter, the $1 is obviously to capture your account details and the trial period is for setting up your website. You get 100% on your first sell and 50% of the amount for each subsequent month as long as your GVO or Pure Leverage down-lines continue to pay their subscriptions.
Why should you join GVO or Pure Leverage.
- Although GVO web hosting has its fair share of challenges, it offers additional marketing tools at a fair price compared to other service providers.
- Pure Leverage provides easy guidelines on how to market GVO and its own products.
Why you should not join Pure Leverage or GVO.
- Pure leverage compensation plan pays 100% commission for the first sale which in turn forces affiliates to push for that first sell at all costs a problem bedeviling similar pyramids such as Empower Network.
- They do not tell you that Pure Leverage 100% commissions are ONLY paid in the first month. Any recurring payments you get a small percentage.
- There are too many unexplained up sells e.g. Why should you upgrade your conferencing capacity to 250 persons before you even made your first down-line sale.
- You pay for hyped yet in existent products such as the Internal Beta Pre Launch which are at various stages of production.
- The marketing tools are exclusively for promoting GVO and PL.
- You sell PL yet it is not a product itself but an overall name of overpriced and inferior marketing tools.
Joel Therien responses to his critics by launching another new hyped program to up sell to the already burdened affiliates e.g the Pure Leverage Facebook based Instant Income System.
Pure Leverage Products.
Elite Coaching Program
Easy Lead Flow Lead Capture System – the system captures leads from supposedly traffic visiting your site. We all know how difficult it is to drive traffic to a website without proper SEO training. P/L is aware of this shortfall and recommends you to buy Safe Swaps – paid referral emails for between $30-$40 for a 100 clicks to promote your website. Unfortunately, just like Empower Network, PL campaigns are rejected by Safe Swaps as they often lead to people unsubscribing from their e/mail lists.
Authority Blog
It’s only for promoting PL and nothing else leading to rehashing of content, a recipe for poor Google ranking. The blogs are often inaccessible due GVO being offline.
Video Email Service
You choose a template, create a video and send it to your down-line. Reminds me of a comment inside PL complaining about how one can produce videos when their English is bad and they have an accent which renders what they say inaudible. Talk of creating a one size fit all tool without prior knowledge of the users.
Live Meeting Room
Can every PL member hold a successful live meeting with 250 members? (upgrade costs $97/month). You can compare this to the reputable Google hangout which is free.
The Turbo Traffic generator
This implies that the traffic generation is not cheap or organic either paid Safe Swipes or Bing adwords. Probably it’s one of the products in the usual Pure Leverage pre-launch stage. After all how can someone carry out any meaningful business online without using Google (it commands more than 60% of search engine traffic) and Facebook (a home to billions of users).
Using Alexa ranking as a measure of internet business success is obviously misleading. Nonetheless, Joel Therien saw his mistake of not using Facebook and as usually converted it to another opportunity to create another up-sell aka Facebook based Instant Income System.
Pure Leverage Facebook based Instant Income System.
An obvious over compensation for the ineffective tools discussed above. How effective this is in building the Pure Leverage down-line to support the ever hungry up line remains to be seen. As usual the tool’s success has been misrepresented as an increase in PL’s Facebook group membership to 30 000 and affiliates are begged to leave positive messages about a less useful tool through private e-mails.
GVO & Pure Leverage support.
There are mixed messages on the support offered with others appreciating it while others going to the extent of moving away from their platform. I for one moved my unproductive website from GVO to a Free hosting site where l also access proved training and you only need to join the community on Free Membership to have instant access to the Community. This is the leader in promoting the best business on internet models.
Pure Leverage auto-responder send me more than two emails a day all with various up sell offers, pre-launched products etc. They were also very efficient in closing my account and taking my website offline.
How much will GVO and Pure Leverage cost you?
GVO web-hosting starts from $3.56, l was personally charged $9,50 per month to host my website promoting their products.
$24,95 to join Pure Leverage.
$19/month to sell PL to others.
$97/month to increase your conference capacity to 250 and receive more training.
Remember you only get paid according to the value of your purchases i.e. you need to pay $141,90/month to get paid if your down-sell buys any of these products.
In Conclusion, l do not advise you to join Pure Leverage and Empower Network as they are scams based on the same principles. Try other superior products such as Wealthy Affiliate which are Free and have no single up-sell even if you become a Premium member for $19.

Upenyu
Founder of Best Business Internet.
I have used GVO Conference (Hotconference) since 2008, and it was a very reliable service for a fair price (compared to all other webinar services like the ridiculously expensive GoToWebinar). I did join Pure Leverage but it was very problematic for use here in Brazil so I cancelled, and as it was introduced the conference room began to present serious problems. The original software was excellent and stable, then GVO introduced a new room built on a Adobe Flash platform which although it had many ‘bells and whistles’ it never worked properly. I contacted support and complained many times, even contacting Joel Therien, but he obviously was not really interested in updating the conference room – he has other projects. Even though more and more people are using smartphones and tablets instead of computers, GVO never made a real effort to make the room compliant with portables. It crashes constantly, or does not load properly. The only advantage, which is why I held on for so long, was the large public chat. But now there are systems based on Google Hangout. So, goodbye GVO…
Thank you Alexander for the update. It is unfortunate that GVO is not keeping up with technological changes.
We’re still using GVO and PureLeverage tool suite for our businesses. I can say that If you’re building an online business with a little investment it is worth it. You should see that now they published GotBackup consumer based product which is great and I’m using entirely to backup all of my files on the go and never worry about HDD problems as I had before.. So if you’re looking to invest and start working with a great company I can help.
You can check our website at anytime.

Thank you Suzan for the update. lt was a pleasure seeing GVO and PureLeverage founder Joel Therien again. He seems to have put a lot of weight …. lol. He has now changed the flamboyant videos into a poorly formatted ‘Free Marketing Training Course’ video … Duh! He never runs out of ideas on creating up sells to force on his gullible affiliates including the GotBackup and 3B Project (to be launched). Remember he once sold us a poorly ranking Joel Therien Blog platform which took months to come alive with its replicated websites. l found your GVO and PureLeverage review misleading, 1) Aweber costs $19 per month NOT $30/mnt and has more delivery rates than PL’s spammy auto-responder. 2) Hosting websites costs between $5-$10 per month NOT $30 per month. You want to wood wink people to think that PL and GVO are cheaper. Google Hangouts still offers a flawless Webinar hosting service compared to the over priced PL conferencing. Spamming well ranking websites with PL ang GVO promotion links is sign of desperation Keep your GVO and PL crap and l will keep my Wealthy Affiliate tools suite … because they can do the job.
Well I only use GVO as a re seller hosting site.. Customer service is quick and good.. Thats all I use from them..
l don’t think there is any problem with their hosting save for long hours of downtime.
